The Stretch Marks that Won’t Go Away

We have all been there. After some significant weight loss the stretch marks begin to appear. You look at your skin and cannot even explain why you started dieting in the first place. Stretch marks can range from slight skin coloration to really ugly big ones which will adversely affect your confidence and skin.

There is no completely full proof method of getting rid of stretch marks. They are one of the things that you have to accept that if they are there, they are there to stay. Trying may give you the impression that you are winning but the reality is that you will be wasting your time. However there are some ways in which you can minimize the risk of getting stretch marks and when they come, ensuring that they do not have a terrible impact on your body.

The more gradual you weight loss program is, the less likely it is that you will get stretch marks. They are simply the sign that your body has lost so much weight so quickly that the natural elastic in the skin is struggling to adjust to the new status. However you must also remember that no matter how ugly the stretch marks maybe, they are not really harmful to your body. The second thing to remember is that by and large, stretch marks are hidden away from prying eyes by the use of the normal clothes that you wear. Therefore you can be in a position where the only people who know that you have stretch marks are your clinicians, your partner and yourself. This means that all that fretting is to no avail.

For us who deal with weight loss as part of our daily lives, stretch marks are inevitability but we can have a comfortable life nevertheless. We cannot let ourselves be defined by the little ugly scars that lie on the privacy of our inner skin parts. It must also be remembered that you cannot refuse to join a weight loss program because you fear getting stretch marks. That is just ridiculous.

Now this is a subject which I am not one hundred percent sure about the ways to deal with stretch marks. Thus it is very important that you contribute your own thoughts on the blog to tell us your tips on how to avoid falling into the trap of stretch marks. Some of you may also have tips for dealing with the stretch marks once they have lurched onto your body.

I am really really interested to hear from anyone who has had laser treatment of any kind, but specifically pulsed dye laser treatment. I have terrible stretch marks from working out that are approx’ for years old. I am in the unusual position whereby the stretch marks are old but are still unambiguously red/purple.
how do you get rid of stretch marks
